Henry Black

Henry has over 20 years’ experience within the NHS finance function, with 10 of those operating at a Board Exec level. He has covered roles in both commissioning and provider organisations, including at a London acute hospital, before joining Tower Hamlets CCG as CFO in May 2013.  He was formally appointed as CFO for NEL CCG in November 2018, and as CFO for NHS North East London (NEL ICB) on 1st July 2022.

He was deputy AO for NEL CCG, and between April 2021 and February 2022 he served as acting AO, as well as the NEL ICS SRO during the period of transition from CCG to ICB.

Henry has served as chair of the London Clinical Commissioning Council Chief Finance Officers’ group and was on the board of the NHSCC, part of the NHS Confed, as well as chair of its Finance Forum between 2017 and 2020.  He is currently the ICB rep on the HfMA London branch.  He is a regular speaker at regional and national events.
