Harper House - Specialist Family Service Scotland

All placements at this service are funded by the Scottish Government

Harper House is located in Saltcoats, near the beautiful beach of North Ayrshire and within reach of local amenities and a Nature Reserve. The service provides a unique, family-focused intervention programme that benefits each family member and the family unit as a whole. Families stay together at the service, meaning that parents remain the carers of their children at the same time as taking part in the programme. Alongside this, Specialist childcare staff provide support to children and parents.

Our programmes are flexible between 12 and 26 weeks, depending on need.

The programme brings together three main elements; therapeutic interventions, parenting and childcare, each responsive to the individual needs of each family. The parenting element is underpinned by evidence-based interventions which enhance the parent's ability to manage their child’s development.

Our staff team are highly skilled and experienced, with a passion for helping people create brighter futures for themselves, their families and their communities.

FACILITIES:

Accommodation for up to 20 families to stay together in the service
On-site leisure activities include creative writing, drama, art, gardening, yoga, meditation, children’s play area, a range of games, TV, family-friendly activities and entertainment
Off-site adult-only activities include the cinema, shopping, sauna, walking, gym, swimming, bowling
Off-site child-focused activities include trips to the beach, community activities, museums, nature parks and soft play
Complementary therapy room with a qualified therapist
Registered in-house children’s daycare centre.
There shall be regular open days, coffee mornings, and community involvement to help improve our surrounding area and work together with our neighbours.

They make money by receiving a fee from providers to refer to them.
