Joyce is an accredited executive coach and mentor and has led leadership development programmes across public, private and voluntary sector. She has served on various boards in a non-executive role and is currently a board member of NHS Ayrshire and Arran, Inspiring Scotland, CentreStage and Phoenix Futures Scotland.
An experienced (now "retired") Chief Executive in Local Government, Joyce is responsible for the management of Council operations and a wide range of key services, as well as working closely with Elected Members to ensure strong and visible leadership and direction. Past Chair of SOLACE Scotland (Society of Local Authority Chief Executives), currently an associate with SOLACE in Business. A fellow with both the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.
Joyce has been involved with Girl Guiding for many years, and is currently Vice President Ayrshire North and Ambassador for Girl Guiding Scotland in Ayrshire having also served as a County Commissioner.
In 2018, Joyce received an OBE for her services to local government, further education and girl guiding.
Joyce is passionate about people development and increasing their opportunities in life, focussed on mental, physical and emotional well-being.
